APPLICATIONS |
||
Anise Oil, obtained from star anise native to China or Pimpinella anisum native to the Mediterranean region, is an aromatic pale yellow oily liquid composed mainly anethole (propenylanisole). The star anise is unrelated botanically to the Anise of the Bible, but has very similar taste and aroma. Anise Oil is used as a cheap substitute for anise in baking and in beverages. It is used in medicinals (cough drops), dentifrices, perfumes, flavorings, beverages, candies and embedding material in microscopy. | ||
